K-6 Social Studies
The K-6 Westborough Social Studies curriculum utilizes an inquiry approach to learning that integrates the Social Science Practices and literacy. Social Emotional Learning is also interwoven as students explore their own identity and learn to work collaboratively. Students explore the diversity of their classroom, school, community, and world through inquiry that incorporates multiple perspectives, discussions, and read alouds. Students are taught that their voice matters and that they can make a difference in their classroom, school, community, and world. Through interdisciplinary project based learning units, students are learning about civics and taking action to make their world a better place.
